Vaihingen erhält eine Gartenschau

Zwei Gartenschauen in einem Landkreis wären dann doch zu viel gewesen – denn eine räumlich gerechte Verteilung im Bundesland braucht es auch. So hat Ludwigsburg, das Nachsehen, das sich für eine Landesgartenschau in Baden-Württemberg beworben hat – trotz großem Wettbewerbseinsatz mit einem Flashmob auf der B27. Vaihingen dagegen erhält den Zuschlag zu einer – wenn auch kleinen – Gartenschau 2029.

Die Förderungsgesellschaft für die Baden-Württembergischen Landesgartenschauen mbH (bwgrün.de) unterstützt die Kommunen bei ihre städtischen Infrastrukturentwicklung, bei der das Grün eine zentrale Rolle einnimmt. Die grünen Leitstrukturen, die dabei entstehen, sind in der Regel auch der Garant dafür, dass die Maßnahme auch langfristig ein Erfolg ist. Sie geben der Kommune einen wichtigen Schub für die nächsten Jahrzehnte. In Baden-Württemberg finden die (großen) Landesgartenschauen (LGS) immer im Wechsel mit einer kleineren Schau (meist in kleineren Kommunen) statt. Wer in diesem Jahr Inspiration von Grün und im Grünen sucht, ist auf der LGS Lahr richtig. Aber auch Würzburg in Franken lockt mit einer  Gartenschau, die rund 28 ha groß ist. Kleiner sind die Gartenschauen im hessischen Bad Schwalbach (rund 12,4 ha) und Bad Iburg in Niedersachsen (hier nehmen die Seen einige Hektar ein), die jeweils rund  500.000 Besucher erwarten.

Übrigens – mit Kindern ist eine Gartenschau das ideale Ausflugziel. Egal bei welcher Schau, meine Familie war auch jedesmal begeistert. Ein paar Eindrücke früherer Schauen:
